Undergraduate Student (now Physics grad at Columbia Uni.)
Education:
before: undergraduate student of Physics (UCSB)
present: Physics PhD student at Columbia University
Bio:
Sophia graduated from UCSB in 2023 with a B.S. in Physics from the College of Creative Studies at UCSB. Her work with the Vlcek group as an undergraduate student was on modeling the formation of polaronic bands in highly charged organic conducting polymers using density functional theory and many-body perturbation theory. She is currently a physics PhD student at Columbia University and a Joaquin Luttinger Fellow at the Center for Computational Quantum Physics at the Flatiron Institute.
Research:
- DFT and MBPT studies of the organic conducting polymers
